Meet Parys Killton
Parys Killton is the drag name of Thomas Martin, an eighteen year-old queen which I've actually been following on my personal Instagram account for quite a while now. Parys is from Newport in South Wales, which is just a couple miles away from me, so it's great to see local talented queens!
Thomas started doing drag about three months ago, after he felt inspired as an art student to work on something more than a canvas. He likes to paint/draw women's faces a lot, which is why he started doing makeup, as a way of making it into something physical.
Parys' three favourite Queens are Max, Pearl Liaison & Violet Chachki.
I asked Thomas how it makes him feel when he becomes Parys, to which he responded; "Drag makes me feel powerful and confident. You're commanding people to look at you, which is an amazing feeling."
Who are your inspirations for your drag persona?
"Thelma and Louise are my inspiration. My friend and I Danny Williams (LINDSAY NOMAN) base our drag personas off of Thelma and Louise / Paris Hilton and Lindsay Lohan - PARYS KILLTON & LINDSAY NOMAN you know very on the run just killed my husband I'm not gonna let a man walk over my sweet as polo again kinda thing."
Do you have a specific look you like to go for? Or does your look vary a lot?
"I feel I have a specific look makeup wise I like to look beautiful but when it comes to outfits I like to sort of slut it up and wear nothing but underwear I feel like it's powerful I like when people look at me. I'm an attention seeker, I was once in Brighton and a man in the street called me a slut and I was living for it!! little did he know that was the best complement I had all night. but I think my look can vary depending on how or where I'm going."
What would be your ultimate ambition you would like to achieve through drag?
"I'm not gonna lie I don't really have any ambitions like I'd love to work in drag or model it'd be fun."
Do you perform in drag? If so, where?
"Sadly I don't perform."
If you could only have 3 makeup products to do your complete drag look for the rest of your life, what would they be and why?
"Eyebrow pencil, 1w highlighter and a black eye shadow I'd just paint my whole face white and be a black and white queen. [I'd] Use the black eyeshadow as blush very multipurpose v Liquorice uno."
What is your one favourite piece of fashion or accessory from your wardrobe?
"My favourite piece out of my wardrobe are my 8 inch stilettos. I wanna walk around stomping on fuck boys in them."
Where do you see yourself in 5 years time?
"I don't know probably dead."
Anything else we should know about your drag persona?
"The first time I ever went out in drag I fell out of my heels on a bottle of lambrini and cut my hand open got up and carried on with my night! Like legit blood everywhere I wrapped my hand in my friends boobs ( tights ) it's a bit iconic I should've really called myself lambrini."
