Read Grant's Q&A below.
When did you start doing drag?
"I officially started drag about a year and a half ago. I've done makeup for about five years though so my drag was a natural transition."
What inspired you to start doing drag?
"Like every gay drag teen, Rupaul's Drag Race of course was a huge component. Also John Waters movies, Victor/Victoria, and Priscilla were all huge influences."
How does drag make you feel?
"Drag gives me confidence and empowerment to help others in the young LGBT community. It is one of the best feelings in the world to help others and drag gives that gift to me."
Who are your inspirations for your drag persona?
Pat McGrath, Alex Box, Mathu Anderson, Miss Fame, Ryan Burke, Roshar, and Alexander McQueen to name a few.
Who are your all time favourite queens?
If I absolutely HAD to pick I'd say: Miss Fame, Raja, and Violet.
Do you have a specific look to go for, or does your look vary vastly? "I try to mix up my looks by following a club kid mantra of never repeating the same look twice. Lately, I've been doing a lot of colored faces and more artistic mugs."
What would be your ultimate ambition you would like to achieve through drag?
"I would love to use my drag to propel me to launch a makeup brand and ready to wear garment line one day!"
Do you perform in drag?
"Unfortunately I don't perform yet as I'm too young for my local gay bars. Hopefully within the next few years I will be allowed in!"
If you could only have 3 makeup products to complete your look for the rest of your life, what would they be?
"Why must you ask me this?! Gosh I'd have to say a shimmery eyeshadow for facial highlighting and nose reconstruction, a brown lipstick for cream contouring and lipstick, and some false lashes!"
What is your one favourite piece of fashion or accessory from your wardrobe?
"I love my spoon dress that I handmade for the Supreme Drag Race recently. It definitely makes a LOUD statement!" [Photo; left]
Where do you see yourself in 5 years time?
"In five years I see myself fresh out of fashion school in NYC or LA launching my indie makeup line and custom sewing garments."
What's your opinion on the recent increase in popularity of drag, which is mainly due to RuPaul's Drag Race"
"On one hand [RuPaul's] Drag Race is wonderful as it provides the culture of drag to so many people and gay teens however, I liked drag more when it was more of an underground less common art form. I have mixed feelings on it all. "
Anything else we should know about Grant?
"Grant is all about spreading love and acceptance through the power of her 'androgyny without apology'. Grant is a high fashion, high style, fierce feminine extension of myself. She loves sushi, her Teen Queenz sisters, anything couture, and her furry thick brows!"
