Featured Queen: Platinum
Platinum is a 16 year-old queen from New Zealand, his interest in drag began in 2012, when he started playing around with makeup looks, but he really started taking drag seriously in November of 2013.

What inspired you to start doing drag? I was actually on YouTube watching literally all of Davey Waveys videos at the time and came across his colab with Willam. "Drag Glossary". I fell in love with Willam instantly because of the sarcastic tone in his voice and his comedy How does drag make you feel? Drag for me is soo empowering. It has given me this unbreakable form of confidence that I know a lot of queens get from doing drag. Its helped me realise what I want from life and showed me that even tho I might end up failing school I always have this amazing career to fall back on
Who are you inspirations for your drag persona? I'm definitely heavily inspired by queens like Willam and Detox. A lot of very cunt comedy queens. When I first joined the online teen queen community I was massively inspired by Renee Etranger. Just really enjoy the look of very big and visual drag Who are your three all time favourite Queens? Definitely Alexis Stone, Sin and Whiskey Ana Rauks Do you have a specific look you like to go for, or does your look vastly vary? I have no idea why but I can never seem to repeat the same look. Like they always look along the same line but I've never been able to do the same look twice. Its usually always a big eye with thick, sharp brows and lips that are basically in my nostrils What would be your ultimate ambition you would like to achieve through drag? To perform for rupaul. To get on drag rave would be nice but actually performing for the Queen herself would be sickening
Do you perform in drag? If so, where? I have a few times. Like at the lgbt youth thing in the Capital City (Wellington) What are some of your favourite songs to perform? I performed Toxic by Britney Spears for my first performance. It was literally just like thrown together and I was like "fuck it I'm in this sexy black outfit I may as well do a Britney number". If you could only have 3 makeup products to do your complete drag makeup look for the rest of your life, what would they be? Matte purple Lipstick Black track fluid liner Lashes? What is your one favourite piece of fashion or accessory from your wardrobe? Either my corset or heels Where do you see yourself in 5 years time? Drunk in a back alley sleeping with the club manager
What's your opinion on the recent increase in popularity of drag, due to things such as RuPaul's Drag Race? I think its great. People are really opening up to the idea of drag
